On 26 August 2019, Ruter Oslo's first mobility park opened at Filipstad in Oslo, Filipstad Mobility Park. Station-based electric cars and electric bicycles are offered to the population for 24-hour disposal as a supplement to other forms of transport in the city. The offer makes it easier for more people to get around Oslo without using a private car.

– Earlier this month, the city council presented a climate strategy. Oslo will be the world’s first emission-free city, and the new mobility park at Filipstad will make it easier for more people to get around the city in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. It provides cleaner air and a nicer city for all of us, says Raymond Johansen, city council leader in connection with the opening.

Filipstad Mobility Park consists of 9 freight containers and a charging station with a solar cell roof with a capacity for 8 electric cars and various electric bicycles. er. The mobility park has a footprint of approx. 450 sqm including building and charging area. The building includes a bicycle sale / workshop and on the outside, 2 parcel boxes have been placed in a collaboration with the Norwegian Postal Service, Posten Norge.

– Never before have more people traveled by bicycle, electric car or public transport in Oslo, and this is still just the beginning. We are now implementing the largest public transport investment since the metro was built after the war, with new trams, several electric buses, 5-minute departures on the metro and a new metro line to Fornebu. Today we open Oslo’s first mobility park, which will make it even easier to travel in an environmentally friendly way, says Lan Marie Berg, leader of Oslo Municipality’s Environment and Transport division.

The project has been realized through a collaboration between Filipstad Utvikling (Cityhubs), the Port of Oslo, Ruter, Move About, MMW Arkitekter, Spesialcontainer, Statens Vegvesen and Oslo Municipality/Bymiljøetaten.
